Hello, my name is Burasakorn Sabyeying. You can call me ‘Mils’. Presently, I’m a Data Engineer at CJ Express and Women Techmakers Ambassador in Bangkok.

On Sunday, December 17th, 2023, GDG Cloud Bangkok hosted DevFest Cloud Bangkok 2023 at SCBXNexttech in Siam Paragon, Bangkok.

One of the sessions we have is the topic “Introducing Data Lakehouse: Apache Iceberg”.

I introduced the concept of Data Lakehouse by explaining three generations of analytics platforms, starting from the Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Data Lakehouse, with the pros and cons of each.

I wanted to showcase the capabilities through a tool called ‘Apache Iceberg’. It’s one of the methods to build a Data Lakehouse, which was developed by Netflix in 2017 and became open source under the Apache Foundation the year after. I believe it will help others to understand its potential better.
